—Fjeldheim is completely surrounded by balconies with vistas
Welcome To Fjeldheim
Fjeldheim (meaning "Mountain Home") is a 9000 square foot Lake Tahoe vacation rental home. It is a Norwegian chalet surrounded in centuries-old pine forests and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe. Situated on one of the only 10-acre lots in the Tahoe basin, the house feels remote, but it is only minutes from all that South Lake Tahoe has to offer. In winter there is cross country skiing, snow shoeing and sledding available from the back door, as well as Heavenly's Boulder and Stagecoach bases only five minutes away.

Fjeldheim History - Established 2003
Built by the Nelsons in the 70's as a vacation home with a taste of the Old Country, Fjeldheim welcomed a wide variety of family friends, extended family, and many others-- the Nelsons' hospitality at Fjeldheim was renowned.
In 2001 the family patriarch passed ownership of the home to his three adult sons, and it seemed that Fjeldheim would have to be sold unless it could somehow begin to pay its own bills. For the next two years, the three Nelson men and their wives toiled to upgrade the already-remarkable home. They considered making Fjeldheim an Inn, but part of the house's charm is its rambling integrity, the joy of having full use of the whole place. Folks love to explore its paneled halls, from bedroom to bath, from library to bar, without fearing that they are trespassing on another guest's territory. So in 2003 Fjeldheim opened to the public as a VRBO. We have hosted dozens of weddings, anniversaries, family reunions, and retreats, vastly growing the legacy of Fjeldheim.
