Traveling East On Highway 50 (Bay Area/Sacramento)
Continue east on Highway 50 through Meyers and into South Lake Tahoe. One mile past the Nevada state line and the casinos, take a right on Route 207 (Kingsbury Grade). Go east on Kingsbury for 1.5 miles and turn right onto Palisades Drive. Continue on Palisades for .6 miles. Palisades ends at a fork in the road: left is Edgewood Drive, right is Easy Street. Take the left fork (Edgewood Drive). Other roads will diverge from it to the left and right, but continue straight ahead until the road narrows and becomes a one lane road hemmed in by trees. Go through the gate and turn left at the stone pillar. Fjeldheim is at the top of the hill.
Traveling West On Highway 50 (Reno/Carson City)
Continue south and west on Highway 50 through Cave Rock, Zephyr Cove, and Round Hill. Just past the Lakeside Inn, turn left onto Route 207 (Kingsbury Grade). Go east on Kingsbury for 1.5 miles and turn right on Palisades Drive. Traveling North On 395 (Los Angeles/Bishop)
Continue north through Gardnerville to Waterloo Lane (a traffic signal with a gas station on the southwest corner and large shopping center to the east). Turn left (west) onto Waterloo Lane. When it dead ends at a cross street, turn left. The next right will be Waterloo Lane again: continue west on Waterloo Lane. It will curve sharply to the right and left-- please obey speed limits on these curves, or you will find yourself exploring someone's pasture. At the next major intersection, Waterloo Lane changes its name to Mottsville Lane: continue west on Mottsville Lane. The next major intersection after that will be Highway 89. When you cross Highway 89, Mottsville Lane becomes State Route 207, and begins an 11-mile twisting climb into the Sierras toward Daggett Pass (the entrance to Heavenly Valley Ski Resort's Stagecoach Base). As the 207 goes downhill from Daggett Pass it will be called Kingsbury Grade. Continue past Benjamin Drive and the Charthouse Restaurant, and turn left onto Palisades Drive.
Traveling South On 395
Continue south on the 395 through Carson City and past the turnoff for Highway 50 (if you take the 50 instead, see "Traveling West on Highway 50"; above). Take Highway 89 South through Genoa to the State Route 207 turnoff. Turn right (west) onto the 207, which begins an 11-mile twisting climb into the Sierras toward Daggett Pass (the entrance to Heavenly Valley Ski Resort's Stagecoach Base). As the 207 goes downhill from Daggett Pass it will be called Kingsbury Grade. Continue past Benjamin Drive and the Charthouse Restaurant, and turn left onto Palisades Drive.
